Anti Ragging Cell

Ragging is a form of harassment and bullying, within educational institution. Ragging is a criminal offense in India, punishable under the Prohibition of Ragging Act,2011.

The anti- ragging cell of the college adopts various means to educate the students about the menace of ragging, anti-social activities, drugs and intoxicants, eve teasing and physical violence etc. All the circulars and orders regarding antiragging directions issued by UGC, MHRD and Punjabi University Patiala are implemented in the college. At the time of admission students fill undertakings regarding Anti- ragging, Posters sent by UGC, highlighting the menace of ragging and its serious consequences have been displayed at conspicuous places in the campus.

For orientation and guidance of students, proctorial duties are prepared before the commencement of every session. The faculty members maintain visit in the common areas of campus at all times on all days by rotation and counsel the students regarding the rules and regulations of the college. The anti- ragging committee of the college includes representatives from various stakeholders, such as the principal, the faculty members, the non teaching staff, students, parents and local police.
