Physical Education Department

The Department of Physical Education came into existence in S.D. College Barnala in 1956. The Department offers Physical Education as an elective Subject to the students of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). The Department zealously works towards the physical fitness of students and strives to inculcate appropriate values and qualities required to develop sports persons and physical education professionals at various levels. The Department offers good facilities and regular coaching to the students in almost all major sports. The College cherishes a very proud tradition of sports and it can claim among its alumni sportsmen of national and international reputation. The college organizes Athletic meet annually with an aim to encourage sports activities and to create competitive spirit amongst the youth especially girls. The college teams participate in the Inter-college, All India Inter-university, National and International Level sports competitions. The department has also rich experience of organizing University Level Sports activities.
