Music Department

The Department of Music started its humble beginning in the year 1967 and has been scaling heights ever since. Music (Instrumental) subject is taught as an elective subject at undergraduate level in Bachelor of Arts. The Department is enriched by a variety of music instruments. The objective of the Department is to impart knowledge of Indian Classical Music as well as light music to the students and to make them all-round musicians and performers. The collective endeavour of our curriculum is to enrich the thinking, understanding and physical mechanism towards better performance of music. The Department of Music provides performance opportunities to the students in a wide range of ensembles. Our students always showcase their talent in the Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth festivals and have always bagged top positions. A number of our alumni have pursued higher studies in Music and several of them have opted Music as their career. The Department has produced a number of talented artists of national and international repute like Surinder Khan, Masha Ali, Kulwinder Billa & Magher Ali.
