B.Voc.(Medical Laboratory & Molecular Diagnostics Technology)

Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc.) in Medical Laboratory and Molecular Diagnostics Technology is a vocational training program, funded by UGC, New Delhi and affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. This program commenced in S. D. College, Barnala, from the session 2018-19. It comes under paramedical course. The course aims at turning young candidates into skilled medical laboratory technologists. The program is a 3-year undergraduate course and provides multiple exit options such as Diploma after completing 1 year of the program, Advanced Diploma after completing 2 years of the program and Bachelor’s Degree after completing 3 years of the program. Eligibility to the course is 10+2 Science with age no bar. After completing this course, one may work as Lab Technician, Lab Assistant, Lab Supervisor, Lab Manager, Senior Lab Assistant and Lab Analyst at Hospitals, Clinics, Medical labs, Nursing homes etc. The Department of B. Voc. (MLMDT) comprises of a highly committed and dynamic faculty with specializations in diverse fields. The department has well equipped laboratories. The vision of the department is to provide latest and comprehensive knowledge to the students and to enhance their practical skills.
